Are your Australian Shepherds Purebred and Registered?
Yes! All of our Aussies are Purebred Australian Shepherds and Registered with ASCA and/ or AKC. All of our puppies will be registerable through ASCA and/ or AKC. You will receive the Registry paperwork in your Puppy Pack at pick up.
2. What is ASCA Registry?
The Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) was established as the parent club for the breed in 1957. They are the largest independent breed-specific club in the United States.
3. Where is Kerr Aussies located?
Kerr Aussies is located in Glendale, AZ, a suburb of Phoenix.
4. How do I get a puppy if I don't live close?
Kerr Aussies can provide an In-Flight Nanny to a major airport near you (only in the U.S.) for an extra fee. Ground transportation is also available. We would be happy to discuss your specific situation when needed.
5. What are the prices of your puppies?
There is a non-refundable deposit of $500 to reserve the puppy of your choice. Puppy choice will be made at around 6 weeks of age and go in the order of deposit placement. Your deposit may transfer to a future litter (only one deposit transfer allowed) if you don't find exactly what you're looking for when your choice comes available. The deposit amount will go towards the TOTAL price of the puppy.
Kerr Aussies reserves the right to choice of the litter.
Prices are as follows:
Tri-Blacks $1500- $2000
Tri-Reds $1800- $2500
Blue Merles $1800- $2800
Red Merles $2000- $3000
**The total price depends on eye color.
** Breeding Rights are an additional $1000 (Total price + $1000)
Kerr Aussies will provide Total Cost of Puppy (when eye color is determined) just before Puppy Pick-up or before.
6. What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept Cash or Cleared Check, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal.
7. Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. You can make 2 payments as long as the total price is paid in full upon puppy pick up.
8. Can we come to visit our puppy?
We are only allowing limited visits/ visitors until the puppies have had their first shots at 6 weeks old to prevent the spread of Parvo.
9. When am I able to pick up my puppy?
The puppies will be ready for their new homes at 8 weeks old. Under special circumstances, we can hold your new puppy until 10 weeks for an extra fee.
10. Are the puppies vaccinated when I pick them up?
Yes. When the pups are ready to go home at 8 weeks old, they will be up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and medications (de-wormer), as well as have a microchip.
11. How do I pick up my puppy at 8 weeks old?
We will be contacting owners, at about the 6 weeks mark, to set up pickup appointments (at 8 weeks of age) for each puppy. The owners will come to our home at their appointment time to get their puppy.
If you plan on flying into Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, we will make arrangements to meet you at the airport with your puppy, crate, food, travel documents, and all other essentials necessary. ( Extra fee applies.)
There is a $15/day Boarding Fee for puppies picked up after 8 weeks.
12. Can I breed my puppy when he's older?
We sell all of our pups on a strict PET ONLY Registration. If you wish to breed, there's an extra fee of $1000 for FULL Registration and Breeding Rights. We will be happy to discuss your Breeding Program and help you in any way we can.
13. Do you dock the tails and remove the dew claws on the Aussie puppies?
Some of our puppies are born with a natural bobtail (NBT). We have all of the tails docked and dew claws removed at 2-5 days old by a vet. This is in keeping with the Australian Shepherd Breed Standard. I recommend reading more on this subject on the ASCA.org website.
14. Does Kerr Aussies do any Health testing?
Yes. All of our adult dogs are health tested and you can see their results listed under each adult dog's page.
15. Do you offer a Health Guarantee for the puppies?
Yes, Kerr Aussies offers a health guarantee that to the best of our knowledge is healthy and free of disease when leaving our home. The seller will provide a health record of all shots, worming, and vet examinations in writing. The buyer agrees to take their puppy to their own veterinarian within 3 days of picking up their puppy for their 8-week exam and vaccinations. Illnesses should be documented in writing by a licensed vet within 72 hours. The seller must be informed of the examination that indicates that at the time of sale, such animal was unfit for purchase due to life-threatening illness, disease, or congenital defect with proper documentation by a licensed vet. Any puppy purchased from Kerr Aussies must show a life-threatening hereditary defect by 12 months of age. Any dog over 12 months of age is not covered under this guarantee.
Seller does NOT guarantee eye color, temperament, ear set, dental occlusion, show capabilities, Coccidia, Giardia, breeding abilities, hernias, patella issues, trachea issues, or undescended testicles.
Parvo 5-day Guarantee
No refunds or replacement puppies will be given for a puppy that comes down with Parvo after 5 days of leaving the breeder's home. Unless all other puppies in the same litter on the breeder's premises also come down with Parvo in the same time period and do not survive. We will require proof of a positive Parvo test and that puppy did not recover from the virus from a licensed Vet. All Veterinary costs are the buyer's responsibility. No refunds for a puppy with Parvo will be made but we will replace said pup with a pup out of our next litter.
Kerr Aussies do not require buyers to keep their new puppy on NuVet Plus Vitamins but STRONGLY recommends it. NuVet Plus Vitamins cost an average of .60 cents/day. This is a small price to pay to ensure the health (and immune system) of your dog.
Dogs consider them a treat.
For your convenience, you may order NuVet Plus on their website at www.nuvet.com or by calling 1-800-474-7044, using Order Code #772121.
Please take a moment and read more about NuVet and educate yourself on why it is so important to give your pups this supplement/ vitamin daily.
